Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the use of kumon learning models on the results of learning economic material of economic development in class X SMA 1 Barumun Selatan. Research time was carried out for 3 months starting from July to September 2018. The type of research method used was experimental. The study population was all students majoring in social studies in class X SMA 1 Barumun Selatan consisting of 3 classes with a total of 74 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. Then the sample is 74 students. Data collection techniques used observation and tests. Based on the calculation of the use of the kumon learning model students in class X SMA 1 Barumun Selatan achieved an average score of 3.50 in the category of “Very Good”. While the calculation of economic learning outcomes of economic development material before using the kumon learning model of students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Barumun Selatan obtained an average score of 65.86 in the category “Enough”, while the results of economic learning material economic development after using the student kumon learning model in grade X SMA 1 Barumun Selatan obtained an average score of 83.50 in the category of “Very Good”. Based on the calculations carried out obtained t count = 4.15 when compared with ttabel at 95% confidence level or 5% error rate with degrees of freedom (dk) = N - 2 = 74 - 2 = 72 then it can be known ttable = 1.666. By comparing between tcount = 4.15 with ttable = 1.666 it can be seen that t count is greater than ttable (4.15> 1.666). Based on the results of the consultation, the alternative hypothesis formulated in this study was approved by the truth. This means that there is a significant influence between the use of the Kumon learning model on the results of economic learning material of students' economic development in class X SMA 1 Barumun Selatan before and after being treated.
