Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

This study aims to describe 1), the used cooperative learning of Jigsaw type, 2) student’ accounting basic equation achievement before and after using Jigsaw type, and 3) whether there is a significant influence of using cooperative learning model of Jigsaw type on students’ accounting achievement on the topic accounting basic equation. The research was conducted at the tenth grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 14 Siabu by using experimental method with 40 students as the sample and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (1) the average of using Jigsaw type 3.46 ( very good category), and (2) the average of student’ accounting basic equation achievement before using Jigsaw type was 67.12 (enough category) and after using Jigsaw type was 80.25 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample  ttest  and helping SPSS version 16 , the result showed significant value was less than 0.005 (0.000<0.005). It means, there is a significant influence of using Jigsaw type on students’ accounting achievement on the topic accounting basic equation at the tenth grade students of SMK Muhammadiyah 14 Siabu.
