PENGARUH KECERDASAN EMOSIONAL DAN MOTIVASI EKSTRINSIK TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR EKONOMI PADA MATERI ILMU EKONOMI DI KELAS X SMA NEGERI 5 PADANGSIDIMPUAN

Abstract

This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of emotional intelligence and extrinsic motivation on students’ economic achievement on topic economics at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying descriptive quantitative with 72 students as the sample and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Questionnaire and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of emotional intelligence was 76.74 (good category),(b) the average of  extrinsic motivation was 78.61 (good category), and (c) the average of students’ economic achievement on topic economics was 79.10 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using Ftest,, the result showed (a) there is a significant influence of emotional intelligence on students’ economic achievement on topic economics, (b) there is no a significant influence of extrinsic motivation on students’ economic achievement on topic economics, (c) there is a significant influence of emotional intelligence and extrinsic motivation simultaneously on students’ economic achievement on topic economics at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan.
