Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to know whether there is a significant difference of using expository and cooperative learning strategy on students’ economic achievement on the topic economic development at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Arse.  The research was conducted by applying experimental method with 24 students as the sample for expository and 24 students for cooperative learning strategy and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Test was used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of students’ economic development achievement by using expository learning strategy was 76.88 (good category) and by using cooperative learning strategy was 83.33(very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using independent sample ttest and helping SPSS version 20, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.01<0.05). It means, there is significant difference of using expository and cooperative learning strategy on students’ economic achievement on the topic economic development at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Arse.  The other words, using cooperative learning strategy was better than using expository learning strategy on students’ economic development achievement.
