Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to describe of using GI learning model in teaching economics, students’ economics achievement before and after using GI learning model, and whether there is a significant influence of using GI learning model on students’ economics achievement. The research was conducted at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat by applying experimental method (one group pretest posttest design) with 33 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling technique from 99 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (1) the average of using GI learning model in teaching economics was 3.20 (good category) and (2) the average of students’ economics achievement before using GI learning model was 69.09 (enough category) and after using GI learning model was 76.06 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using GI learning model on students’ economic achievement at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Barat .
