Abstract

ABSTRACT           This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of using direct instruction learning model on students’ economic achievement on the topic consumer behavior at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. The research was conducted by using experimental method with 26 students as the sample and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analyzes, it could be found that a) the average of using direct instruction learning model was 3.00 (good category) and b) the average of economic achievement on the topic consumer behavior before using direct instruction was 69.42 (enough category) and after using direct instruction was 79.62 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest , the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using direct instruction learning model on students’ economic achievement on the topic consumer behavior at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. Kata kunci:  direct instruction learning model, consumer behavior
