Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

   This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of using expository learning strategy on students’ financial statement achievement at the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying quasi experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 36 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling technique from 178 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of applying expository learning strategy was 90 (very good category) and b) the average of students’ financial statement achievement before using expository learning strategy was 62.08 (fair category) and after using expository learning strategy was 83.33 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest, and helping  SPSS version 16, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using expository learning strategy on students’ financial statement achievement at the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan.
