Abstract

ABSTRACT

 

This study aims to know whether there is a significant influence of using STAD learning model on students’ economic achievement on the topic demand at tenth grade students of IPS major of MAN Sipirok. The research was conducted by applying quasi experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 35 students as the sample and they were taken by using random sampling technique from 71 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of using STAD learning model was  3.50 ( very good category) and b) the average of students’ economic achievement on the topic demand before using STAD learning model was 69.89 (enough category) and after using STAD learning model was 80.71 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using paired sample ttest, and helping  SPSS version 23, the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, there is a significant influence of using STAD learning model on students’ economic achievement on the topic demand at tenth grade students of IPS major of MAN Sipirok.
