Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of using direct instruction learning model and giving the task on students’ economic achievement on the topic demand elasticity at the eleventh grade students of MAN Sipirok. The research was conducted by applying descriptive correlational with 60 students as the sample and they were taken by using total sampling technique. Test and questionnaire were used in collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (a) the average of using direct instruction learning model was 3.42 (very good category), b) the average of giving the task was 3.41 (very good category), and c) the average of students’ demand elasticity achievement was 78.83 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using r product moment and Ftest,, the result showed a) there is a significant influence  between using direct instruction learning model and students’ economic achievement on the topic demand elasticity, b) there is a significant influence  between giving the task and students’ economic achievement on the topic demand elasticity, and c) there is a significant influence  of using direct instruction learning model and giving the task on students’ economic achievement on the topic demand elasticity.
