Abstract

Abstract: This research is entitled "Improving Recount Text Writing Skills Using Picture Series Media for Class X Hospitality Students of SMK Negeri 1 Bintan Timur Province of Kepulauan Riau with Problem Based Learning Model". The purpose of this study was to improve learning outcomes on recount text material using Picture Series media with a problem-based learning model at SMKN 1 Bintan Timur  The method used in this research is action research which consists of two cycles and each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Based on the results of the action research, it can be concluded that Picture Series media can improve the recount text writing skills of class X hospitality students at SMKN 1 Bintan Timur. Furthermore, the researcher recommends: 1) English teachers who have the same difficulty in teaching recount text material can use picture series media. 2) In order to get maximum results, the teacher needs to make a picture series according to the interests of students and varied.
