Abstract

Abstract:The purpose of this research are to find: 1) The application of peer tutoring  strategy on students’ reading comprehension in report text. 2) The students’ reading comprehension in report text. 3) Whether there is any significant effect of peer tutoring strategy on students’ reading comprehension in report text. This research use experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population are 88 with 21 sample take by purposive sampling. The instrument of this research are interview, observation sheet and test. The average score before treatment is 40.57 and after treatment is72.19. The result data shows that ttest is higher than ttable (ttest>ttable = 12.64 > 2.09). It means that there was significant effect of peer tutoring strategy on students’ reading comprehension in report text at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 AngkolaTimur.

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan: 1) Penerapan strategi tutor sebaya pada pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks laporan. 2) Pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks laporan. 3) Apakah ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari strategi tutor sebaya terhadap pemahaman membaca siswa dalam teks laporan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain one group pre-test and post-test design. Jumlah populasi 88 dengan 21 sampel diambil secara purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah wawancara, lembar observasi dan tes. Skor rata-rata sebelum perlakuan adalah 40,57 dan sesudah perlakuan adalah 72,19. Data hasil menunjukkan ttest lebih tinggi dari ttabel (ttest>ttabel = 12.64 > 2.09). Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan strategi peer tutoring terhadap pemahaman membaca teks report siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur.
