Abstract

The 21st century is the century of knowledge that can affect all aspects of human life, and therefore must have a history teacher competence as a professional teacher of history means there must be a continuous effort enhance the professionalism of teachers, among others concerning the history of self-esteem  as a profession carrier history teacher, mastery of a broad historical knowledge, in-depth and up to date, high-skill acquisition in the history learning strategy, creative and innovative attitude adaptable to the development and demands of the times. Another thing that is not less important is, a historian educators do not be afraid to give the material a controversial history, it is important to be able to  train students in the school to be able to think critically analytical on the course  of historical events, which KTSP gives wiggle room is so large that learning history is not boring.
