Abstract

This study aimed to describe the use of Direct Learning (Direct Intruction) Against Ability to Understand the Scope of Historical Sciences in Class X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola. The method used in this research is experimental methods. This population is students of Class X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola which consists of 6 classes with 228 students, the sample is considered to represent the entire population using random sampling techniques, each class taken up to 9 persons amounted to 54 people and is used as a respondent. The average value of the use of direct instruction (Direct Intruction) obtained an average value of 2.85 and is included in the "good" category. The average value of the ability to understand the scope of the science of history before using direct instruction model (Direct Intruction) is 52.83 included in the category of "low". While the average ability to understand the scope of the science of history after using direct instruction model (Direct Intruction) is 77.34 included in the category of "good".There is a significant difference between the use of Direct Learning (Direct Intruction) Against Ability to Understand the Scope of Historical Sciences in Class X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola. This is evidenced by the price obtained was 37.59 t. Price count is then consulted with tables on the 5% with dk = n - 2 = 54-2 = 52. Thus, the hypothesis is proved. Thus it can be seen that t> t ie 37.59> 1.67. Based on the results of the consultation, the formulated hypothesis can be accepted or approved, meaning "There is significant relationship between use of Direct Learning (Direct Intruction) Against Ability to Understand the Scope of Historical Sciences in Class X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola".
