Abstract

This study aims to know whether there is the significant influence of using discussion method on students’ history achievement on the topic of the development of the life of Nations Buddhist-Hindu kingdom at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan. The method of this research is descriptive with 89 students as the sample. Questionnaire and test are used in collecting the data. Descriptive and inferential analyzes are used to analyzed the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (a) the average of using discussion method is 2.87 (good category), (b) the average of students’ history achievement on the topic of the development of the life of Nations Buddhist-Hindu kingdom is 76.73 (good category), and (c) tcount  is greater than ttable  (11.29> 0.20). It can be concluded that there is the significant influence of using discussion method on students’ history achievement on the topic of the development of the life of Nations Buddhist-Hindu kingdom at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan
