Abstract

This study aims to know whether there is the significant influence of teachers’ skill to give explanation on students’ history achievement on the topic of keeping freedom struggle at the twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan. The method of this research is descriptive with 42 students as the sample. Questionnaire and test were used to collect the data. Descriptive and inferential analyzes are used to analyzed the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (a) the average of teachers’ skill to give explanation is 2.75 (good), (2) the average of students’ history achievement on the topic of keeping freedom struggle is 76.28 (good), and (3) tount is greater than ttable (2.21>1.68). It can be concluded that there is the significant influence of teachers’ skill to give explanation on students’ history achievement on the topic of keeping freedom struggle at the twelfth grade students of SMA Negeri 7 Padangsidimpuan.
