Abstract
This study aims at finding out whether there is a significant influence of extrinsic motivation on students’ achievement in mathematic course on the topic of equation linier of two variables at eighth grade students of MTs Islamiyah Purbatua. The research method in this study is descriptive with 42 students as the sample. In collecting the data, test and questionnaire were used in collecting the data. Descriptive and inferential analyzes were used to analyzed the data. Based on the data analysis, it was found that: (1) the average of 2.90 (good category), (2) the average of students’ achievement in mathematic course on the topic of equation linier of two variables is 77.02 (good category), and (3) tcount is greater than ttable (1.92>1.68). It can be concluded that there is a significant influence of extrinsic motivation on students’ achievement in mathematic course on the topic of equation linier of two variables at eighth grade students of MTs Islamiyah Purbatua
