Abstract

This study aims to describe marsiurupan local wisdom (sa anak saboru hibul marsada ina) Bagas Lombang village of districts Sipirok. This study identifies the factors that cause the depletion of marsiurupan local wisdom. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research was found that (1) marsiurupan tradition is still maintained but the nuance is changed in the implementation. Wage system is found in implementation and this case is contrary to the philosophy of traditional Angkola, (2) factors that lead to the depletion of marsiurupan local wisdom are modernization, society rapidly growing economic and social change that is disconnected and not symmetrically, (3) the effects of depletion of local wisdom is the loss of ethics in children and youth. The changes in social interactions of marsiurupan tradition are still found in the party of marriage, death, and farming.
